Ad service and account is paid up

I paid off my account last year and have been receiving smses that the account is still outstanding. The account was handed over to COOMBE & COOMBE ASSOCIATES and I was paying them. I called their head office (SA Multi loan) and received horrible attitude with their call centre and was told I need to get this letter from their lawyers whom I have called and requested the paid up letter... its now over a month I am waiting for this letter, and this affecting my credit profile as neither parties are willing to help.
