Collection of expired debit card

I have been informed that my debit card is expiring within the next month.
I just called the branch manager who told me that I need to come within 3 days of the card expiring otherwise there will be a charge.

I find this disgusting. I have been with FNB for over 10 years and to be told if I try collect my card before 3 days before expiry, i must now pay.
If i happen to be away within those 3 days and unable to order and collect the card, then thats just bad luck on my side.

For a bank who advertise constantly and pride themselves on good service, I found this is very bad taste.

I also have to go into the bank to order the card, I would have much preferred to do it over the phone or email so I can just walk in and collect as I would prefer to avoid the queues, especially month end.

For a large, leading bank like yourselves, I expected much better client services.

When I explained to the branch manager what my concerns were, all he had to say was that that's how FNB works and there is nothing he can do, extremely unhelpful.
