Incorrect billing on the account

My mother had a Home Choice account which she had arrears on. Over time her name was handed to DMC and she made arrangements on payments, which she honoured as well. after some years they said that she was still owing on her account that she never finished paying and because she did not have proof of the payments made she had to pay again and she did. It happened that she misplaced the receits again AND dmc came with the same story after some years, which ofcourse we connot proof as we dont have it. Now it has happened again, for the third time only this time she has been keeping her payments as proof of payment. DMC is now claiming the paymets she has been making have been reversed and she should go enquire at the bank why they where reversed. The payments they are claiming where resversed where made in October and November and reversed in January. How do we solve this problem becouse it seems to me you pay for a lifetime at DMC... PLEAE HELP!
