Vericred
T. Sosibo

My car finance account was handed over by Wesbank to Vericredit. When Vericredit contacted me I was informed by them that I had an outstanding balance of around R55000, which included all other costs such legal fees, collection fees, interest, etc. I made an arrangement of paying monthly instalments of R500 which I have been paying since October or November 2012. I have never missed a month in my payments. On 22/01/2014, I received an sms from Vericredit stating that I still owe R56138.80 on this account. I've been trying to contact Vericredit since last year on their 0126612366 number to request my statement, and nobody answers. I am very flabbergasted by this seemingly inappropriate act of Vericredit as I've made payment of over R6000 in this account to date, but instead of the debt to be reduced it increases. I am also violated of my right to have access to my statement so that I can view where exactly is payment allocated. All I've been getting are sms' sent approximately once every 3 to 4months reminding me to make a payment and showing me a constant or an increased balance in comparison to the last sent reminder...
