My Air-conditioning stopped working and i booked my vehicle into VW to have it repaired.
The cost to repair was aproximately R28 000.
My VW warranty had expired but i had bought an extended warranty through motorite.
Was advised by VW that a claim to motorite was submitted but they would only cover R8 000.
I queried why and got VW involved. Initial comment was that AC was excluded and only compressor was covered. (I have correspondence to confirm this)
I reviewed my policy and this was definitely not the case.
I was contacted by a motorite employee who advised my policy didn't cover the required parts. Upon correcting them and Sending THEM a copy of my policy, their story changes to a clause that failure of part of the AC cause damage to the rest of the AC.
What utter hogwash. This is a blatant attempt at avoiding honoring their obligations.
I have initiated steps to take legal action as this is a complete breach of contract.
I will also take this matter up with VW principles.
You can judge an insurer on how they react when a claim is submitted. On my experience motorite should be avoided.
