Remember the advert caption that said "If you want to know how good your insurance is, then claim! "? Well, that was Mutual & Federal. FNB Insurance Brokers changed its insurance management & administration (for the umpteenth time!) last year, & called me as a client to advise of the change & request that I be migrated to the new insurance system, on exactly the same terms & conditions as I had previously. The migration eventually took effect in November/December & I was sent a policy document (in fact 3 documents!). After reading the policy documents, I called FNB to complain that they seemed to be changing the terms & conditions of contract, yet had said that they wouldn't when they proposed the migration to me. I was told not to worry, as nothing had changed, only the move from old to new system. Shockingly, I lodged a claim in January 2014, only to experience a completely different claims process, & unreasonable & client-compromising requirements that I meet someone at a shopping centre for assessment, & to submit a bank statement to them to show them transactions, or else they will not process the claim? What cheek! These changes werent disclosed to me on migration.!
