We have been covered with Outsurance for several years. When the original policy was created, my husband decided to list all my jewelry under "out and about" cover. However, all items were not specified, but we set up a rather significant "out and about" insured amount which he told the sales consultant at that stage is for unspecified jewelry. The sales consultant did ask my husband if that means we are not covering jewelry under household contents. As it is way more likely for jewelry to be out and about, my husband's decision was to rather pay extra and have the unspecified jewelry covered as out and about, being under the impression that it is then covered - be it at home or out and about. Outsurance did ask if that is what he wanted, and he confirmed. What Outsurance DID NOT say (and they did listen to recording now) is whether my husband is aware that 1. NO jewelry is then covered (except the specified pieces) if at home and 2) They DO NOT cover jewelry under unspecified out and about. Now that we had a burgalry at home, Outsurance refuses the claim saying we were not covered. They had no problem to deduct the money for this "irrelevant" cover.
