Right, so, on the 7th of December my car was from outside of my brother's house. It was tracked and found within a few hours and then taken to the impound. The car was financed through absa, via my mother and insured through Santam.
My mother is a member of absa (private bank) and was issued a broker to deal with insurance issues. Over the course of the last month and a bit, my girlfriend and I have been told by my broker to deal with it ourselves, he wants nothing to do with it. I then went directly to Santam, where I received slightly better feedback, but only slightly. I was constantly reassured that I will be contacted and kept in the loop. After more than a month I have heard from the assessor on one occasion (where I phoned him) and have since left messages on the phone to phone back to no avail. I have not been told what they decided was wrong with my car, I have not agreed to anything, and to be honest, it feels like the people that took my car had more concern than both absa and Santam together.
I was also told by my broker that I cannot get a rental vehicle, as it wasn't in my policy, which it was, but he will see what he can do. Service providers, yeah right...
