Descrepancy regarding my cheque account

During the festive season I was using my cheque account for purchases and every time I used it I got text messages of how much that was remaining in my account and that was a lie. some of the debits only reflected in my account 8 to 9 days later and that put my account on negative. went to the bank they explained it to me as a loyal customer I understood and I am willing to pay what I owe over two months without interest. spoke to one their call centre agent yesterday and he said that this is possible. today I am to make that arrangement with any call centre agent have on the phone for 45 minutes going from one agent to another explaining the same information again and again I have heard enough as I have other things to do.
