3 townhouses were severely damaged by hail storm. My claim was put forward at the end of November. We battled for how long just to get a claim No from Absa and eventually they sent out THEIR contractor to come and quote who NEVER EVEN SUBMITTED HIS QUOTE TO ABSA. I was calling him on a daily basis for a week to find out if he had sent his quote to Absa and I just got excuse after excuse from this contractor as to why he has not forwarded the quote.

Our broker Micka Makelaars was also constantly contacting Absa to get this claim moving. I had one tenant move out of his unit for a month because of all the damage. It was almost the middle of December and still nothing so my broker obtained permission for us to continue in the meantime as I cannot have my tenants living like this. With this we subsequently went ahead.

Lucky the assessor then came out and he said that this was a shut and dry case. He was given photo's of everything and he finalized the claim on 27/12/13 and sent to next dept.

Yesterday 13/1/14 I got an e-mail stating that ONLY NOW will Absa get ANOTHER contractor to work on our quotes. I find this kind of service absolutely shocking & unacceptable.
