I have never experienced something like this! I am a very loyal and good customer of African Bank for plus minus 5 years now. Quite a few Rands went through me!
Last week I applied for a loan and immediately they could give me 4 quotes, for which I was approved. I wnet in with the said requirements: ID, Utility Bill, latest payslip and 3 months bank statements (not older than 2 months). Confirming that this was all, I wnet to the branch. Already I am think to myself, it is quite strange for a professional financial industry that I must again take bank statments and FICA document, after only doing a loan through them, a few months back.
I got there and everything was done very quick and I qualified and was approved for a deal, just under R100 000.00 BUT ALAS my latest salary slip and the the amount paid into my bank account (Bank statements) does not correspond as on my payslip as every month there is a different deduction from my payslip for out staff restourant, up to R500. Now to explain to them why the amounts MIGHT differ every month, depending on what and how much I eat... an absolute waste of time. So African bank lost a deal of almost R100000 due to inability to calc.!
