Not safe to deposit money at ATM

I insert R650 in the envelope and inserted it into the atm it just kept asking for my envelope. I then immediately reported it to the front desk of my branch. The lady the made a call to "the atm people" to report it. She gave me a reference number and said that they will automatically deposit the money into my account when they find my envelope. And that I should come back within two days if I have not received my money. After 2days I did not receive my deposit and went back to the branch. a gentlemen then helped me and told me the reference number the first lady gave me does not exist and that the problem has not been logged. So they relogged it and gave me a new ref. nr and said that it will take 10 working days for me to receive my money. Well I did not receive my money and when I went back I was referred to the branch manager... After several calls the outcome was that they have not found my envelope and that is is now not their problem anymore... They referred me to resolution centre and after long conversation the outcome was still that my envelope was not found and does not exist. I do not have any proof that I inserted the money so know I just lose it!! Not fair!!
