On the 29th November 2013 i tried to contact Absa to report damage to my roof & property from the hail storm the previous night. I tried to call all of friday and never got through even holding for up to an hour. I then reported the incident online. The first time i received acknowledgment of my claim was on the 8th December 2013. Absa appointed a contractor called Versitrade they were unreachable. I then asked Absa to appoint another contractor and they appointed Sol Structures. Neels from Sol Structures came to my property to assess the damage and informed me that Absa would not cover the cost to repair the roof only to repaint my ceilings. So what is the point of repainting the ceilings and not repairing the roof so that the next time it rains the ceilings will need painting again. I have been on hold for 45 min this far to reach Absa to discuss if this is truly possible as what is the point of having insurance?
