On 22 November I made a telephonic application for a Credit Card with FNB, I am an exisiting client with various products including a Cheque Account.
I was provisionally approved and asked to send my ID and payslip, which I did on the same day.
Their turnaround time is 3-5 working days, and my card would then be delivered via courier.
Well, after numerous follow-up calls, and a dropped call from the call centre in the mix, it finally took threat of a Hello Peter complaint yesterday for me to get feedback, 13 working days later!!!
The feedback was that due to my risk profile, the application was declined. Funny how this feedback call happened 10 minutes the above call to a Team Leader in the New Applications department.

The explanation for my decline was very vague, and I am suspicious that it took 14 days for them to get back to me with a decline to due to my profile... surely they could have done this is 3-5 days?

ABSA has however been more than willing to assist, and have approved my online application within 10 minutes.

It's sad, as I do like to have all my financial products with one institution.

I am very disappointed in FNB.
