With the storms that was hitting SA we lodge a claim at Outsurance for our wind damage holiday home at Kranspoort. When I put the phone down I told my wife " let's see what the excuse wil be this time around" as this is the first time from the time we bought the house in 6 years we also lodge a claim for wind damage. The Outsurance thachroof supplier Monument thatch repairs or something like this quoted them almost R550000.00 for the repairs. After sending out the civil engineer they repudiated the claim due to " the construction of the house not being in order" I had a huge fight with them because we have a civil engineering report that the structure of the house is in order that we received from the seller as part from the finance conditions from FNB and also FNB recommend that we insure the house thru Outsurance. Needles to say I repaired the house out of my pocket and Outsurance did not pay a sent. It cost me R 280000.00 were the Outsurance supplier asked R550000.00.
So the roof was completely redone en a new woodin deck was also added.
Here is we're I urge al South African citizens to not insure there property thru Outsurance, because with this claim the same story happend again.
