HOW LONG CAN IT POSSIBLY TAKE

My father passed away on the 7th July 2013. I discovered when assisting my mom, that my dad paid a policy for many many years to Momentum for a policy which according to Momentum would pay out a small amount to my mom.
As I am assisting her to sort these policies of my dads out and because it is such a traumatic experience for her, I have come to realise how some of these insurance giants just give you the run around.

Not too long after my dad passed on the 7th July I started making phone calls. After a number of calls I was directed to the Risk department. They then told me what documents to send in to make this claim.

I adhered to all their requirements specified. Some documents extremely painful and traumatic for us to obtain.
Since i have applied for this silly policy to pay out, i have contacted them numerous times only to be told it is with the assessor. How long can it take. Asscess this - my dad paid for years, you were happy to take his money - he passed away - NOW PAY MY MOM. I am happy to give her the R5000.00 and tell Momentum to shove it, but my dad faithfully paid every month.
