I, a specialist physician approached First National Bank regarding a merchant card facility. I was told that this would not be a problem so at FNB's request I opened a business account. I am in private practice and as we all know we don't carry cash anymore because of the crime in this country. FNB refused this facility despite having no legal basis on which to make this refusal. My not having a card facility has cost me patients and income. I was honest (and transparent) as to why I needed this facility. Patients need to be able to pay me. If from the beginning they new that I would not be a candidate for this facility why make me go through all the processes of opening a business account?? I asked for help not hinderance and a waste of my time!
