I have been with Outsurance for four years. Claimed only for car windscreen replacements in this period. Added vehicles and changed some details on my policy from time to time. Ample opportunity for them to check my risk profile and offer me a better deal.
Decided now to cancel my policy with them as I can get the same coverage at a third less. (R1000 less per month on premium) All of a sudden after 20 minutes on the phone with Outsurance they can do the same coverage for a R1000 less in premiums per month. According to the agent my risk profile with them allows them to cut my premiums now. Funny that it only apply now that I want to cancel my policy.
This is in my opinion like in a very sophisticated way. If I did not cancel they would have happily taken my extra R1000 per month for the following four years without blinking an eye. My strategy now will be to change from one to the other company for short term insurance at least yearly and make sure I get the lowest possible premium every time. If not they will milk you year after year. Good bye for ever Outsurance.!!
