Delay or non tangible response over a claim

On the 24 March 2013 my husband passed away in a car accident in the Eastern Cape. I buried my husband & proceeded with all the insurance claims. My late husband had a Life Cover with Frank, & I happened to listed as the Main and only beneficiary.

I consulted Frank with the view of submitting my claim which was in April 2013. I got advised of all the applicable and required documentation which I duly submitted. I constantly kept checking up on them to confirm if all the documents i submitted were in good order. This was now in July and I was informed that all was in good order. I have been told to wait for 12months in order to gain access to the Life Cover "funds".

My issue is " is it even accepted or a standard rule that one has to wait for a good 12 months in order to access the LIFE COVER BENEFIT if at all was meant to take care of the ones that are left behind and disadvantaged by the passing of their loved one. What about the kids that were taken care of by the deceased not to mention the assets sustaining the family?

It is disheartening and regrettable that other insurance companies conduct& address their customers so cruel and with such inhumane treatment.
