I contacted credit card call centre early september to close my credit card after paying it off. I cannot recall when (please check who worked on my profile and retrieve voice recordings) or trace calls from 0877421737 in September. The guy I spoke to told me that my account will be closed within 3 working days. On monday I received my e-statement and the account is not closed and it now ihas a balance of R41 owed to ABSA, I contacted ABSA today and spoke to Malebo Mkhwanazi who advised that the amount needs to be paid and no notes showing that I called. That is not my problem, if your employees are not doing thjngs right so customers must suffer for that. I refuse to pay that amount, I will not be liable for somebody who did not do his job. Had the account been closed on the first call I wouldn't be writing this report. I demand for the amount to be written off and demand to be sent in writing that the account is closed and no balance owed to ABSA.
