I signed up with Miway after getting fed up with the "green" insurer.
It seems I am going to have to look for another issuer yet again. Perhaps a reputable one like Alexander F.
I signed up with Miway mid June 2013 and my excess was R1000. I agreed to higher premium because of the lower excess.
Miway then sent me a letter in September "telling" me they are increasing my excess to R3500 due to "inflation".
Excuse me, the Consumer Price Index has remained relatively the same during the 3 months that I have been with Miway. Now One has to wonder what risk assessment and basis did Miway use when they were signing me up, if now they have to triple my excess within 3 months of joining??? Due to "inflation". Assuming they know the meaning of such!
I can only conclude that Miway is dishonest and they only signed me up so they can bite later.
People beware..!!!
Oh and did I mention that I happened to bump my car on the same day that they decided to increase my excess??
When I called them, the agent said the increase in my excess is due to the panel beater striker..! How absurd!!
Maybe you should start training your agents to be better liars, at least!
