INCORRECTLY LAPSING POLICY WITHOUT NOTICE

I have (or now had) a Life Policy with Sanlam for 6 years and today after phoning to change debit date I hear my policy lapsed in March 2013 already because of no payment!? 1stly, Payment has been taken from my b/acc each and every month since the start of this policy and 2ndly I asked the question If so called payments have been missed why wasn't I notified thereof before cancellation? Agent advised my correspondence was changed to email and email address was changed and all notifications was forwarded to this email add. I NEVER called to change ANY DETAILS before today and to top it off it was changed to an email add which DOES NOT BELONG TO ME! How could does happen? How was my details changed by some other third party. I have paid over R13000 onto this policy already and demand back every cent!!! Next step will be the ombudsman.
