Online Debit service does not work

I went online to stop a debit order from a dubious charge from a dubious company.
I then phoned and mentioned all of this.
I was assured that all is good.
The debit order went through all the same to the dubious company which 3months later still has not refunded me, while IVe been wasting my time and money for something I did online on FNB which did not perform as it was supposed as well as being assured that it would.

I just have to add that its not Ashmore Thuthukani Bhengu's fault
as the agent just confirmed to me the obvious that if I stop a payment online it would be stopped.
Which it was not.
