We owe about R 71 on our credit card on a credit card that we never use anymore, luckily we moved to FNB. We just forget to close the account. They started to bug us, probably understandable, we forgot to make payments. However these calls come at a time that is impossible and late in the evenings. However, the call I receive does not say how you can repay your account, and is recorded without anybody on the other line. Now it is taking me 3day to try and make a repayment of R 71.
I have wasted 30min of my morning already just to try and get an account number to make the repayments. Only to get a 5th consultant telling me we must waste more time and go into a brunch and make the payment because the account has been blocked. So fair enough blocking it to not use, but you constantly tell me I have to make payment - but then you block it preventing me from making a payment.
This is just R71, imagine the poor distressed consumer trying to restructure their bad debts, it will be impossible to speak to the right person in getting this done. No wonder SBSA have R5bn in the first year of bad debt - You are making it impossible and really difficult to make payments for consumers.
