Don't know what they are doing

I applied for a personal loan from FNB and a lady by the name of Lerato was initially assisting me.
She was very helpful and friendly.
Today however I phoned in and asked what the verdict was. Lerato was unfortunately not in so another person assisted me. All was approved but there was an issue where my profiles had to combined and she told me to take my ID to my nearest branch to get this done.
I went home to get my ID and went to the bank which was very busy so I decided to back later.
Before going I phoned in again and spoke to another lady that also told me to just take my ID and I asked if I should take with my Proof of Residence (I asked this as I did not have it on me and did not want to waste my or the people at the banks time).
The lady assured me that it would not be needed. I went to the bank and waited about a hour and a half as the bank was still busy.
Turns out that I did need my Proof of residence and the lady at the call center could have saved my a lot of time and effort had she given me the correct details.
