Prestige Banking not so Prestige!

Myself and my partner applied for a homeloan at Standard Bank which was approved at 10.6%. I am extremely unhappy with the fact that my prestige Banker at the time - Razia told us that we can come in after a year to motivate a lower interest rate on our home loan account, which now is not the case! At the time opening the homeloan, both our STD bank accounts was just over a month old which was the reason for us getting such a high interest rate we were told. I now feel that she just wanted to lock us into our home loan by trying to tell us that we can get a lower rate at a later stage. I requested now, a year later to have a lower interest rate motivated and Razia no longer work at Standard and new Prestige banker sent motivation through, my response I got is that it has already been locked in and we cannot get a lower rate. I complaint due to my frustration and got a call from Prestige teamleader that said they will check and motivate again and same answer. I went in to speak to the Branch Manager as well and not happy! Apparantly we cannot do anything, need it in black and white although myself and my partner was told this verbally. Now, do I have no leg to stand on?
