I opened a FNB acc early 2012. When I logged into my online banking mid 2012 for the first time I saw that I suddenly have a FNB cr card with a balance owing. I did not even know that I had a cr card with FNB. After some investigation I was told that this cr card was opened in 1996 and purchases was made on the card. I told the lady at FNB legal that I know my handbag was many years back and it's round about the same time when the FNB credit card was opened. July 2012 I phoned them & requested them to send me proof of what was purchased on the card in order for me to take it to the police. Well I again requested the same docs from them on the 10 May 2013. Shortly thereafter they deducted money from my chq acc without my authorisation. Is this legal? FYI I'm still waiting for the docs I requested. They told me that I have to give them proof that my bag was. You must be me it's almost 20 years back. I phoned the police station where I reported the case but they have nothing on record. I cant get the info from insurance broker that I used at the time as I do not have a policy number & they cant give me proof of the payout its to long ago.
