First National Bank
EXCESSIVE COLLECTION CHARGES & PASSING THE BUCK

I had a KULULA Credit card that was issued by FNB which and used the entire credit. At the begining of 2010, lost my job and was unable to pay my credit card. My credit card was handed over to Connack Muller Attorneys for collection. After having made regulay payments for almost 2 years, i requested a balance on the account as well as detailed breakdown of all the payments made thus far. I did basic calculation of what is purportedly outstanding and added what i have already paid and it appears to me that the total amount that Iam being asked to pay is in contravention with the provisions of the National Credit Act, which was confirmed by the Supreme Court of Appeal in a matter between Nedbank v The National Credit Regulator (662/2009 & 500/2010) [2011] ZASCA 35 (28 March 2011). i have been trying to get the necessary documents from Connack Muller and Company in order that i can take action and to date have only received a statement. Attempts to speak to FNB have been unsuccessful as they are passing the buck to the Attorneys. I will however not give up.
