I had a Personal Loan of R5000.00 with Standard Bank which I paid off on the 05/07/2012.I obtained paid up letters from the loan branch in Braamfontein stating that the outstanding amount including interest and service fees was R4847.53 and well I paid that amount on the 05/07/2012 @ the Cresta Mall Branch.
And was I reassured that the loan was closed.
Now 6months later I get a call from their credit rehabilitation centre saying that my account has been handed over because it hasn't been paid off. So I asked the consultant if the payment was reflecting on the system and she said No, which made me angry and confused.
So I decided to call their Loan enquiries dept and was advised by another SC that the payment does reflect but the loan wasn't closed by the Teller at the Cresta Branch. I believe that it's unethical and incompetent that they dont do THEIR jobs as expected from Standard Bank employees.
