Accounts not closed and admin not up to date

I closed my account in November 2009 and the person who handled the closing of the account is no longer working there. One year after the account has been "closed" i received a phone call from attorneys to collect money from me. After investigation i picked up that the person who helped me did not close the account and debit orders kept going off that account and even without a overdraft. So i got all the documents together and proof of accounts been closed and all debit orders canceled, and i wrote a letter in detail for head office with all the proof . in the mean time i was busy paying the money back because the attorneys was such a pain in my neck that i had no choice. The attorneys were MaRobert Attorneys. And a year after the query Standard Bank came back to me and said that it wasn't their fault and i have to continue paying back what i owe them. Still can't understand how this was my fault if i have the signed documents from the branch and with the reps name etc.
I went under dept review and the credit card linked to the same account had to go on as well. Today i found out that i stopped payment to the account. Again not my fault!!! Please let them phone me quick.
