Toyota Financial Services / Wesbank
Radio broke during warranty period

I am truly unhappy with Toyota.

Last year while my fortuner was still under warranty period, I took it in for its service and asked them to look at the radio/cd player. They came back to me after the service and said it was a factory fault and the radio would be replaced with the next service as they have to order it because they do not keep stock.

I do not travel a lot so when I took my car in for the next service, and inquired about the radio again, they said that the car is now out of warranty period and that they ordered the radio and sent it back after 2 weeks. They admit that they cannot recall phoning me to inform me the radio has arrived.

I contacted Toyota SA a month ago to try and resolve the situation and they just said that the Branch did contact the supplier and they still maintain that the car is now out of warranty.

If I reported the matter after the warranty had expired I would have understood, but I did report it and it was recorded while the car was still within warranty. Never did they mention that the only keep the part for 2 weeks and return it again.

Surely a person must be covered under the consumer protection act.

Disappointed Toyota owner.
