I moved my account to FNB and then closed my SB acc. They cut my card up in front of me. Recently my brother accidentally transferred cash to that acc instead of my new one. When he tried to have it reversed they said the acc is still active so i went to check since i have recieved no statements, correspondance and havent been able to use the acc. They said that my acc was never closed and now the fees have amounted to R3000 in just 3 months. at R99 a month that would take 30 month not 3. 2 hours after i leave the bank the debt department calls to ask when i will pay this credit off... My answer is never. They have the R2000 my brother sent to me and now they want let me close my acc until i pay a further R1000. I would be happy to pay the R99 for the 3 months the account was inactive but now they being ridiculous.
