Standard Bank
Forced into debt by Standard Bank

I have been experiencing problem with this financial institution which has been deducting money from my account without my consent or consultation. In June 2013, R2000.00 was deducted from my salary by Standard Bank and an additional R1000.00 was deducted just days after on July 3.

When I went to the bank to find out why Standard Bank had taken such a large sum from my account, I was told by the collections department that I had taken out a personal loan in 2006 which had not been repaid. I requested that they tell me who the surety was as in 2006 I was an unemployed student with no income whatsoever.

I was told by a consultant at the recovery's department that my account had been sold to attorney's who are still unknown to Standard Bank, the very institution that sold my account. What puzzles me is that I have been banking with Standard Bank since 2012 and have not changed my listed address or contact details yet they claim that they have not been able to get a hold of which is why they just decided to help themselves to R3000.00 of my salary without consideration of how I was going to make it through the month.

There are bills that I have not been able to pay because of this.
