I'm absolutely amazed that Metropolitain (AMETLIFE) cannot trace a policy based on the insured persons ID number or Surname!!
To trace the policy they require the details of the debit order on my mothers bank account.
Last year I traced the deductions on my mother's ABSA account to Metropolitain, BUT only after spending hours on the phone to ABSA who referred me to Nedbank who referred me to Metropolitain, who in the end would not give me the policy number for future reference because I'm not the insured person.
I find this absolutely pathetic!!!
At Metropolitain you're just a number on a debit order, not even your own ID number!!
