Incorrect details provided & unhelpful staff

I currently have a 32 day fixed account with Standard Bank, due to an unexpected expense I required the funds. I called Standard Bank on Saturday and the consultant advised me that the branch nearest to me closes at 11:30 & the funds can be accessed with a penalty fee of R250, after travelling half an hour from Port Edward to Margate the guard told us that the bank had closed at 11:00. I waited until today and when i visit the Gateway branch the consultant tells me that ahe is unable to assist me and theat I require proof of the emergency. The misinformation and unrealiable service from Standard Bank is really disappointing. This was an utter waste of time and I believe the consultants need to be trained before advising people of what needs to be done. Two trips, a number of phone calls and a total waste of my time and for accessing MY savings.
