Insurance failed to pay and it is 2 years late

Jan 2011 I was paid off at work and could not service my credit card, but I was not concerned as I telephonically took out insurance a couple of years before and understood that I was covered then came the for then till now they say I was fired so I cannot claim and if i was retrenched I would get paid out, now please tell me the difference. I have asked for copies of tape that was made when I took insurance. NOTHING I have given up responding as I am waiting for summons sothat I can go to short term insurance ombudsman and the Banking ombudsman . the bank also closed all my accounts and took the few Rands I had in my cheque account to put against my Credit Card
