I had a virgin money credit card which i settled years back at ABSA Pretoria West and asked the consultant to close the account. To my surprise I received a letter from R Daly Attorney for collection of R1695 after many year of not having any call, letter, statement or any notification from the bank of any outstanding money. My contact details and employer have remained the same for almost 12 years, thus the banks attorney managed to contact me and send twice weekly sms to remind of the default on this account. I am prepared to pay this amount but wants to know and get confirmation from ABSA on how to ensure that I wont have them patronising me and family in due course claiming more more money from me. This is totally unproffessional and bad customers service. I called the attorneys and they told me that they are not responsible for this, but i must settle the balance. the bank could not help at all as i have visited the bank on several occassions without any positive outcome. I sent an e-mail message to customer care and still not much of help.
