I received and email from loanfinder SA saying I pre qualify for a loan. I went online to make use of the free loan finding service. I was asked to enter my basic details and my banking details on the online application that was a secure link of some sort. I then completed the online application form as requested for the service.
Then I received a sms saying my application to there service was accepted and I was sent another sms with a username and password as well as an email with terms and condition. Upon reading it I saw that one of the conditions being that upon applying for the loan my account will be debited of R350 for a service fee. I wasn't aware they charged a service fee as I haven't even filled out the loan application yet. I thought they needed my account number to check my credit not take my money.
They cannot just go into my account and help themselves to my money without consent and under false pretence
I have not activated anything yet they want to charge me. I tried calling there call centre after I realised this but I'm being put on hold all the time. How do I stop this? I don't have money to waste
Loanfinder must terminate whatever service that is.
