I was told last month to submit proof that I am on maternity leave and the insurance will cover my installments. I called the collections department and I was told that the documents were sent to the insurance people and I should wait for a confirmation sms from the insurance people. I was assured that the insurance would cover my payments. I called today to make a follow up and spoke to Semake Thabe who said there is no such thing. He said that insurance doesn't cover you while you are on maternity leave and that I should make payment arrengements. When I tried to express my dissatisfaction, he told me not to dwell on it in a very dismissive tone. He didn't even try to understand that his co worker to me. He went as far as telling me that they have a huge call center and I don't understand the relevance of this statement. African bank's call center agents need to be held accountable for the information they give their cliets, the manner they give out in. African bank encourages its clients to contact them if they forsee difficulty in reaching their monthly obligation with them, so I ask-whats the uuse if you are going to be misinformed and dismissed for trying to do the right
