On the 22nd of June i went to a Sandton Absa branch to increase my credit card limit on a PAID UP card i have had for almost a year.
I brought my payslip and 3 months bank statement. This is after i changed jobs and got a salary increase. The lady who assisted me forwarded docs to ABSA CC and i was told i will get a responce the following week. After numerous enquiries im told that it is rejected because of affordability. What affordability? What was that based on? No credit checks were done. My living expences including my debt obligations are half my net income.
I know i am not guaranteed an increase but i deserve an explanation of what is it that this affordability rejection is based on. I just feel that who ever my documents was sent to never worked on this..just to get me of her back... she rejected this without doing an assessment.
PLEASE CANCEL AND CLOSE MY CREDIT CARD. I was on the call with a consultant who transferred me to Retentions and after holding for a long time i dropped the line. Please send confirmation to my email address.
Thank you.
