I recently requested a settlement from MFC which they sent to me. Because the settlement amount was the same (nearly higher) than what my last statement was, I queried it. According to my calculations as well as that of my insurance, it should be much less if you do not include future interest, which I would assume I don't have to pay as I am settling the account. I only have two years to go, so I didn't think I would be penalized. I have phoned them repeatedly with no answer - holding on for nearly 6 minutes the last time. The call centre number, the direct numbers of some people who have responded on HP as well as the complaints line (which conveniently immediately gives a busy tone). I sent them an email on Monday 1 July asking that somebody please get back to me on this. I have still not heard anything. I didn't want to complain on HP as there are so many similar complaints, but they left me no choice. I was surprised about the many complaints, but I now understand why. They really do not care about their customers or their (lack of) customer service.
Please do not send me a generic reply with your phone number, you do not answer anyway.
