Oneplan have increased their fees and I've had a few queries as to why I'm having to pay more for the same product. I happen to have just joined with them and I'm getting slapped with an increase.

It all started with a letter explaining how they would be increasing their monthly fees by R98 due to rising medical costs. I was a little shocked as R98 might not sound like a lot but it converts to a 18.49% increase. Also my cover wasn't going up so should I land up in a life threatening accident and get hospitalized (this is the reason I have the policy) OnePlan will still pay the same amount out and I will be stuck with the difference. This is were my question arose 'why should I pay more for medical cover that hasn't increased just because the hospitals have increased their fees? In the end I will be both out of pocket from my medical insurance and the hospital bill with their increased fees'.

This question could not be answered by the call centre agents who put me through to their team leaders. These team leaders were unable to assist me and give a sufficient explanation and then referred me to their managers who were unavailable. I am still waiting.
