We recently experienced a break-in at home and I can only say we're lucky not to have lost anything. Though, our front door has been broken and as a latent result, our gate has become faulty.

After having reported everything to the police and insurance companies, we await service providers to come and fix what needs to be fixed so we can move on. Firstly, the assessor for the front door came the day after the break-in and confirmed that he would be submitting his report and quotation on the same day to the insurers. And so he did. The insurers only need to confirm that he can do the work. Today, when we called the insurers to find out how far along the process was, the person mentioned above responded by saying that the quote from the service provider had not yet been approved, and so she did.

Secondly, we've reported the fault on the gate. This was reported on 12/06. This fault puts us at risk. Upon reporting this fault, the insurers advised that they would find a supplier to assess the fault. We were advised today that the supplier was fully booked & can only come 21/06. I ask, why still approve quotes if you only have one supplier? The gate has to be fixed asap!
