Winding up of deceased estate

My mother appointed Standard Bank as the executors of her estate upon her death. She passed on in March 2013 and Standard Bank was advised accordingly. The Consultant advised us not to contact any creditors as they were responsible for winding up the estate. In May 2013 we received a letter from the creditors advising us of an overdue account and possible repossession of the asset. We have made several attempts to contact the Consultant however no responses have been received.
