My vehicle was damaged by hail Nov 2012. I reported and took my vehicle to a assessment centre in Benoni for a quote. I was informed to take my vehicle for repairs to Midrand almost 50km away. I live and work in Boksburg. I asked if there wasn't a repairer in the East Rand and was told there wasn't. They then came bank and said I could take it to Wynberg 40km away. I went to two local repairers for quotations and sent it to them, they came back and said they don't deal with these repairers, but they could settle the claim and take it where ever I wanted to. This would have costed me an additional R3000.00.
The point I'm trying to make is that, they said they will bend over backwards, but they can't even have your vehicle repairs in a city as big as Boksburg where there is at least 10 hail damage repairers, you have to take it to an unknown area to have it done.
I will make sure everyone I know, knows how pathetic this is. Members of my family already cancelled there insurance, and I will be cancelling mine as soon as my vehicle is repaired. Ive decided to have it repaired in Wynberg just so that I can get them out of my life for good.
