I opened a StanLib account some while back and presented all the documents. I then received a very rude letter from the bank advising that seeing as I had ignored their correspondence (I had not received any communication from them!!) the account was not yet active. I subsequently found out that they wanted my marriage certificate (why I don't know asI am not married in community of property) and they did in fact have a copy of my marriage certificate on their computer system. This was sorted out eventually and I recently went into the Eastgate branch to transfer money from my cheque acc into my Stanlib account. I waited for 1 hour because they could not find my profile. They let me leave and not one person offered to contact Stanlib or find out what the problem was. Again, recently, I waited 2 months for a new cheque book, my new cheque card was sent to the wrong branch, etc. My husband and I were in the process of moving our money to Nedbank and if it had not been for Lynette Cromhout at the Woodbridge branch, we would now be Nedbank customers. She pursuaded us to give the bank one more chance - she was well aware of our numerous problems (not caused by her).
