Bad advice and service

I went to the Rosebank branch of standard bank and explained that I want a card that will enable me to make online purchases (through Amazon etc.). They gave me a card and charged me R70 for it and told me it will work. The card works for ATM withdrawals and purchases only so I went back to Rosebank and was told to call the call centre which I did. No results and after being told a hundred times that debit cards cannot make online purchases by the staff I am about ready to leave for greener grass. To add insult to injury somehow when I went back to Rosebank my withdrawal limit was changed to 0 and now I can't even get money. I am a student and will start working next year I don't want to deal with bad service every time I walk into a bank.
