I took out a loan with African Bank in 2005. Due to circumstances I could not pay the instalment in full. I had arranged with African Bank and we agreed that R250 would be deibited from my bank account. Debits were done and to my surprise in 2007 a garnishee order was placed against my salary. I remember people coming to my work and house with "stuff to sign". Once a guy came to do an affordability assessment at my house and said, I could afford to pay the instalment of R712. At the time the assessment was done, certain expenses were excluded from the list and thus it seemed as if I could afford the instalment of R712.
I have been paying since 2007 and I have a balance of R9760.13. This is the balance of Muller Mostert. African Bank balance states R8707.65.
My circumstances have changed and I can now afford the instalment of R712. I enquired from Muller Moster if the garnishee can be removed and I was advised that only African Bank can agree to that and that I need to pay and amount of R1000.00 to have it removed.
Can I please be assisted in this regard.
Thanks
