I recently applied for a Gold Cheque Acc with FNB.
My frustration is with obtaining, the seemingly, unobtainable smart device, which was my primary motivation for joining FNB in the first place.
One of the qualifying criteria is that you must have a min of 1 active debit orders switched from your previous account to the FNB acc.
I cancelled my only active debit order (Cell C Contract) for the reason that i am getting a smart device through FNB...
This leaves me with no active debit orders.
To meet the qualifying criteria i then created a debit order to be deducted monthly from my new acc.
This seems to be very hard to understand by all the agents i spoke to and i kept being transferred or reffered to the next agent that blatantly advises me that i do not meet the criteria to qualify for a smart device..???
Eventually i ended up speaking to Merlyn (Sales Manager) at the Adderley Str branch and she sounded quite convincing in improvising a plan/solution for me.
I am still awaiting on her call since Thursday...
"Value your customers" seems irrelevant these days.
"Rather the bank you know, than the bank you don't...", seems quite appropriate at this stage.
Auto escalation... guess
