Beware - Cheque Deposits

I was shocked to learn that I was charge a fee of over R700 for a cheque deposit into my Discovery Credit card, when other institutions for example Standard Bank charges a flat fee of R10 for ATM deposits into a credit card.

I only became aware of their fee after looking at my statement, and although it is clearly stated on Discovery website that a fee of R35 plus 1.2% of the total amount of the cheque will be charged, I am still shocked.

I guess Discovery Card has benefits such as cash back, points, etc, but they balance this out by the ridiculous fees that are charged.

So beware when making use of your Discovery Credit card on certain transaction types!
